Jenny Carson, Professor at the Maryland Institute College of Art, explores the traditional method for creating marble sculptures by examining the daily operations of the sculpture studio of Carroll County native, William Henry Rinehart. The artist, who died in Rome in 1874, left behind ledgers, letters, and unfinished works that reveal the secrets of the sculptor’s studio, and help to provide a picture of how these magnificent marble sculptures were made.
Admission – $3.00 for members, $7.00 for non-members.
Bring your lunch and we’ll provide the dessert!
Thanks to our sponsors Jiffy Mart and Carroll County Maryland Office of Tourism for their generous support! For more information call 410-848-6494 x200.
