March on Washington Interviews

The March on Washington is a collection of stories and memories from Carroll County residents who were part of the historic Civil Rights March on August 28th, 1963.

Special thanks to Jean Lewis, chair of the Carroll County NAACP for initiating this collection and to Dr. Patricia Dorsey for serving as interviewer for the project. This permanent video collection is made accessible on the Carroll County History Project's website by the Community Media Center of Carroll County.

As part of our Black History Month Celebration, The Community Media Center is compiling these interviews with archival footage of the event to produce a special video, The March on Washington, which will air on Channel 19 hroughout the month of February. Check listings for specific dates and times.
