Interviewing Tips with Leo Eaton
Local residents filled the Community Media Center studio on Saturday, January 18th to attend a workshop for the Carroll County History Project. Emmy Award winning independent producer, Leo Eaton was the special guest teacher for an Interview Training Workshop for local residents who are interested in collecting memories for the Carroll County History Project.
Attendees learned the best practices for interviewing a subject on camera. Mock interviews allowed members of the class to practice their newfound skills and gave them insight into ways they can make their subject more at ease during the interviewing process.
Immediately following the interviewing portion of the workshop, attendees received a hands-on tutorial on how to record interviews using CMC camera equipment. The tutorial included basic camera operation, shot framing and set up instructions.
If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about the Carroll County History Project or would like to attend a future workshop the CMC offers a variety of workshops. There is a free monthly Orientation to get members of the community on their way to working on their own shows and exploring the latest electronic communications applications.
Workshops are taught by staff and other professionals in the television and technology industries. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or call 410-386-4415.
