The Community Media Center is collecting interviews with local Vietnam Veterans for the Carroll County History Project.

We want to recognize YOUR service to our country by adding your oral history interview to our archive collection.

Your memories and personal accounts of service can be preserved so that future generations can hear directly from veterans to better understand the realities of service and of war. This is an opportunity for you to share your voice, and a small way to say “thank you” for your service.

Interviews will be videotaped by appointment on October 21, 2017.

VETERAN ORAL HISTORY COLLECTION DAY

Saturday, October 21
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Community Media Center
1301 Washington Road, Westminster MD

Schedule YOUR interview appointment today!

Videotaped interviews be broadcast on cable Channel 19 on November 11th in observance of Veterans Day and will be added to the Veterans Oral History collection of the Carroll County History Project’s video archive.

Our goal is to preserve the memories and insights of the men and women who served during the Vietnam era, and give our local veterans the chance to talk about their experiences and perhaps share the stories they may have never before told.

These important, personal accounts can provide powerful insights into the experiences of our local veterans. Through the stories of those who served during wartime, we can begin to see how military experiences affect every aspect of life, regardless of whether a person served overseas or stateside.

*All local veterans are welcome to schedule an interview, regardless of their date of service. Veterans of the Vietnam era are of particular interest for this collection day.
