Jim Mayola

Jim Mayola Jim Mayola, of Union Mills, Maryland is the new Coordinator of the CMC History Project. No stranger to Carroll County, Jim completed the last 10 years of his career as the Assistant Director at the Department of Social Services. In 2005, Jim served as the Chairman of the Board for the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce and has served on the local boards for Change, Inc., Sylvia's Acorns, The Community Services Council, Westminster Boys and Girls Club, and United Way. During 2008 and 2009, Jim worked as an Americorp VISTA volunteer at McDaniel College, to establish a service-learning project on campus.

As the Coordinator of the CMC History Project, Jim will be helping to collect and compile oral histories from residents of the county. Everyone who lives in the county has a story to tell and those who are the more mature of our neighbors have even more to share.

Examples include growing up in the county, going to school, employment, recreation, housing, etc. Interviews usually conclude with a discussion of the changes that the person has seen in the county since their first experience here and any recommendations for those watching the video in the future.

So, if you have a story to share of your past experiences, please consider participating in the CMC History Project. The interview is really just a conversation, where you tell stories from your past. To set up an appointment for an interview, or for more information, call Jim at 410-386-4415.
